Moloch, Once and Future Lord of Malbolge
The former lord of the Sixth Circle of Hell, the archdevil Moloch fell into disfavor with his betters and his followers to the point that his temples were abandoned and looted by riff-raff adventurers. This latter ignominy depicted on the cover of the 1978 AD&D Player's Handbook. This is my interpretation of his return.
